Isabel Kazanga Chiumia

Dr Isabel Kazanga Chiumia is a Public Health Professional and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Health Systems and Policy at Kamuzu College of Health Sciences (KUHES). She has a PhD in Global Health from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) and a joint master's degree in health systems from the University of Verona (Italy), University of Deusto (Spain) and Corvinus University of Budapest (Hungary). She also has a BSc Degree in Nursing from Kamuzu College of Nursing, University of Malawi. She has broad background in teaching, conducting research, surveys and as a consultant in the areas of Public Health, Health Systems and Policy, Human Resources for Health, RMNCH, Quality Improvement in Healthcare and Implementation Science. She has completed various assignments for the World Bank, WHO, Global Fund, UNICEF, USAID, GIZ, HRH2030, UNFPA, MSH, GIZ, Ministry of Health, WEMOS, ACHEST, MSF, Euro Health Group (Denmark), Thinkwell (Switzerland), Health Focus (German) and others. She is a member of the Public Health Professionals Without Boarders- Groups, HRH Global Coalition, National HRH TWG, Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi, Task Force team for HRH Strategic planning and the national TWG team on Quality Improvement in Healthcare. She has published in various journals and presented at both local and international conferences.
