Thomas Gulya

Thomas Gulya worked for 35 years s at the Sunflower Research Unit, Agricultural Research Service. His major emphasis during his career was identifying new sunflower pathogens, developing inoculation techniques, and evaluating fungicides and sunflower germplasm (cultiaved and wild Helianthus species) for resistance. His emphasis was on Sclerotinia head and stalk rot, Rust, downy mildew, Phomopsis stem canker and Verticillium wilt.
