T. Camps

Thierry Camps was born in France in 1964. He received the Ph.D. degree in microelectronics from Toulouse University, Toulouse, France, in 1991 and the habilitation thesis to supervise research in 2000. From 1992 to 2007, he was a Research Assistant with Toulouse University and LAAS-CNRS, Toulouse, France, and has been a Professor since 2008. His research include design and fabrication of MEMS based on thermo-mechanical actuators and sensors in poly-silicon thin films technology for microfluidic, biomedical applications and gas sensing. He also studies GaAs photonic devices technology and the realization and optimization of electrically-injected VCSELs. He is currently exploring various complementary approaches for integrating micro-optical elements and actuators include polymers MOEMS for VCSELs beam shaping or for spectral tuning using liquid crystal-based devices.
