Sergejs Makovejs

Sergejs Makovejs received the B.S. and M.Sc. in electrical engineering from Riga Technical University, Riga, Latvia, in 2004 and 2006, respectively, the Ph.D. degree in electronic and electrical engineering from University College London, London, U.K., in 2011 and the Executive MBA degree from Warwick Business School, Coventry, U.K. in 2019. He is currently with Market and Technology Development Team, Corning, U.K., and with Corning, NY, USA, from 2011 and 2015. He has authored and co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers in the field of optical communications. His research interests include data center interconnects, long-haul terrestrial, and submarine networks. Dr. Makovejs was also a reviewer for IEEE Photonic Technology Letters, Journal of Lightwave Technology, and Optics Express, and will serve on OFC 2023 and SubOptic 2023 sub-committees..
