Scott Coughlin

Scott Coughlin received the BA degree from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, in 2014. He is currently working toward the graduate degree from the School of Physics and Astronomy, Cardiff University, Cardiff, U.K. He is currently working as a research specialist at the Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA, Northwestern University). He leads and manages the citizen science project known as Gravity Spy. Gravity Spy is an interdisciplinary research project that combines his interests of gravitational-wave data analysis, machine learning, and citizen science with the goal of classifying non-astrophysical noise artifacts in gravitational wave data.
