Coordinating a project to develop a national policy and technical regulation for aflatoxin control in food and feed. This entails a situational analysis of aflatoxin prevalence, past and current aflatoxin projects, mitigation measures, existing policies, standards and regulatory frameworks and capacity needs assessment. There will be a series stakeholder engagements, consultations and sensitisations. The outputs include an approved policy with an implementation plan and an enacted technical regulation. The outcomes include improved harmonization and coordination of aflatoxin-related activities among stakeholders, strengthened capacity of regulators to implement the technical regulation and increased demand for aflatoxin-safe food and feed.
