Rosa Lo Frano

R. Lo Frano graduated in Nuclear Engineering at the University of Pisa in 2004 while in 2008 she got the Ph.D Degree in Nuclear Engineering and Industrial Safety. She is Associate Professor at the University of Pisa. She is appointed Full Professor from 01/06/2021. In 2007, she won the European ENEN PhD Symposium Award and in 2009 the ASME PRIZE in Category PhD. Since 2007 she was/is assistant at the Nuclear Engineering courses of Mech., Chem. and Nuclear Engineering Design, Design of Complex Plant and Nuclear Plants. Since 2012/13 she is teaching Design of Complex Plant. The research activity refers mainly the safety issues of nuclear installations and its main components, the structural integrity against external events, the transport of radioactive materials in normal and accident conditions, the safety of RWs repository, etc.. She was/is also one of the scientific referees for projects and contracts at national and international level, such as the AdP MSE-ENEA 2008-09, PAR 2010÷2013, ELSY, LEADER, PETRUS III, GENTLE, NUGENIA, IGD-TP, etc..
