Peter P. Egeghy

Peter Paul Egeghy is an environmental health scientist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development. His research primarily addresses the need for rapid screening and prioritization of manufactured chemicals based on potential for human exposure through the development of novel approaches for accelerated exposure assessment and publicly accessible exposure databases. His research also involves the application of exposure assessment techniques using advanced statistical methods to investigate the determinants of exposure and to evaluate factors that contribute to observed exposure variability. Dr. Egeghy has served as an expert panel member for varied organizations including North Carolina Central University, the Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI), ACC Long Range Initiative, International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), and the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES). Dr. Egeghy earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and an M.P.H. from the University of California, Berkeley.
