Noelio Oliveira Dantas was born in Brazil. He received the Ph.D. degree in physics from the Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil, in 1993. From 1994 to 2018, he was a Professor with the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Since 2018, he has been a Professor with the Physics Institute, Universidade Federal de Alagoas. He has experience in condensed matter physics with emphasis on optical and spectroscopy properties of condensed matter; other interactions of matter with radiation and particles, acting mainly on topics such as growth and optical, structural, morphological, and magnetic characterizations of nanocrystals, semiconductors quantum dots, and or semi-magnetics in glasses synthesized by the fusion method; synthesis and optical characterizations of glasses doped and codoped with rare-earth ions and transition metals; and growth, structural, and optical and magnetic characterizations of doped crystals by a colloidal method.
