Michio Tajima

Michio Tajima received the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1975. He joined the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS)/Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Sagamihara, Japan, in 1989, after 14 years with the Electrotechnical Laboratory, and was a Professor with the University of Tokyo from 2000 to 2011. Since 2011, he has been a Professor Emeritus with ISAS/JAXA and a Professor with Meiji University, Kawasaki, Japan. He has been involved in the photoluminescence characterization of impurities and defects in Si, SiC, GaAs, and other semiconductors. Dr. Tajima served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Japanese Journal of Applied Physics from 1998 to 2000 and as the Vice President of the Japan Society of Applied Physics from 2004 to 2006.
