Michael Schaffner received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from ETH Zürich, Zürich, Switzerland, in 2012 and 2017, respectively. He was a Research Assistant with the Integrated Systems Laboratory, ETH Zürich, and Disney Research, Zürich, from 2012 to 2017, where he was involved in digital signal and video processing. From 2017 to 2018, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Integrated Systems Laboratory, ETH Zürich, where he was involved in the design of RISC-V processors and efficient coprocessors. Since 2019, he has been with the ASIC Development Team, Google Cloud Platforms, Sunnyvale, CA, USA, where he is involved in processor design. Dr. Schaffner received the ETH Medal for his Diploma thesis in 2013.
