Michael E. Coltrin

Michael E. Coltrin received the Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from the University of Illinois, Chicago, in 1979. He is currently a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories, Albuquerque, NM, and Co-Director of Sandia's Energy Frontier Research Center for Solid-State-Lighting Science. His research interests are in semiconductor thin-film growth, most recently concentrating on the Group-III nitrides. He is co-author of the textbook Chemically Reacting Flow: Theory and Practice (New York: Wiley, 2003). Dr. Coltrin is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
