Matthew Hill

Matthew L. Hill IBM Research, Thomas J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598 USA (mh@us.ibm.com). Mr. Hill is a Senior Software Engineer in the Multimedia and Vision department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. He received a B.A. degree in computer science from Cornell University and an M.S. degree in computer science from Columbia University. Prior to IBM, he worked for Cognex Corporation on software for industrial machine vision applications. In 1998, he joined IBM Research and has been a longtime contributor to the IBM Multimedia Analytics and Retrieval System as well as other image-related projects such as invisible watermarking and content-based copy detection of video sequences. He contributed to high-throughput image recognition applications using IBM Streams and developed the custom learning framework for the Visual Recognition Watson Developer Cloud service, His work has earned several IBM awards and resulted in many patents and peer-reviewed publications.
