Michele Merler (M’13) received the M.Eng. degree in telecommunication engineering from the University of Trento, Trento, Italy, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Columbia University, New York, NY, USA, in 2012. He is a Research Staff Member with the Vision and Multimedia Group, IBM Research AI, Yorktown Heights, NY, USA. His interests are in multimedia and computer vision with a focus on sports video analysis and facial attributes estimation. Dr. Merler was an Area Chair for ACM multimedia in 2016 and 2017 and local organization, and the Web Chair for ICMR in 2016. He is a member of the ACM and IEEE Circuit and Systems Society.
