Career Trajectory
Bio
Marek Sierotowicz has an education as an electronic engineer, with a specialization in robotics, and is currently a doctoral candidate at the Chair for Medical Robotics of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. During his time at the Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics of the German Aerospace Center, his research activities were mainly concerned with Human-Machine Interfaces and robotic applications with a focus on human-in-the-loop. By investigating these topics, Marek hopes to give his contribution in improving feasibility, effectiveness and practicality of crewed space missions. His current research is focusing on novel actuation and sensor modalities to be used both in order to provide force feedback in teleoperation and VR applications, as well as in rehabilitation and assistance for patients suffering from motor ailments.
