Bryan L. Jackson received the ABA degree in chemistry from the Occidental College, Los Angeles, California, in 2000 and the PhD degree in chemistry with an emphasis in biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2007. He joined IBM Research-Almaden, in 2008 as a post-doctoral researcher. He became manager of the Brain Inspired Computing-Hardware team in 2013. His diverse research interests include chemistry, biophysics, VLSI design, systems architecture, and neuromorphic engineering. He has received various awards including the Occidental Trustee's Scholarship, Howard H. Crandall Fellowship, NIH Biophysics Training Grant, and numerous IBM Awards.
