Min Yong Jeon received the B.S. degree from Han Yang University, Seoul, Korea, in 1988, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, Korea, in 1990 and 1994, respectively, all in physics. He has been with Chungnam National University, Daejeon, Korea, as an Assistant Professor of physics, since May 2003. Prior to joining Chungnam National University, he worked in the area of optical routers as a Research Scientist at the University of California, Davis. From 1994 to 2001, he worked in the area of optical network subsystems at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Daejeon, Korea. His current research interests include characterization and application of optical switching technologies, amplifiers, SOAs, lasers, and optical nonlinear effects. Prof. Jeon is a member of the IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society and the Optical Society of America (OSA).
