Kris Nilsen

Dr Kris Nilsen joined the Faculty of Health, Art and Design in January 2019. He also holds an honorary position at the Department of Allergy, Immunology & Respiratory Medicine (AIRmed), Alfred Hospital and has established collaborative arrangements with the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research. Dr Nilsen is a biomedical engineer and expert in respiratory mechanics. His main field of expertise is in Biological signal processing, Respiratory Physiology, the Forced Oscillation Technique and Ventilation Imaging. Dr Nilsen’s research principally focuses on developing and advancing new technologies to measure respiratory mechanics and ventilation. These measurements further our understanding of respiratory system physiology and the changes that occur with diseases.
