Michael is currently teaching epidemiology and evidence-based clinical practice for medical students and clinical epidemiology graduate students at Monash University. He has held or held positions in the NHRMC and the New Zealand Health Research Council Grant Group, as well as the committees of the Australian Lung Foundation, the Australian and New Zealand Thoracic Society (TSANZ), Asthma Victoria, Asthma Australia and the National Asthma Committee. He chaired the scientific committee of the 2017 meeting of the International Society of Environmental Epidemiology. He is also a committee member of the International Symposium on Occupational Health Epidemiology and the meeting of the Australian Epidemiology Association. Michael has been invited to speak at many international conferences.
