Kerstin Eder received the M.Eng. degree in informatics from the Technical University Dresden, Germany, and the M.Sc. degree in artificial intelligence and the Ph.D. degree in computational logic from the University of Bristol, U.K. She is currently a Professor of computer science and the Head of the Trustworthy Systems Laboratory, University of Bristol, U.K. She also leads the verification and validation for safety in robots research theme at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory. Her most recent contributions include agent-based testing, how to use assertions and theorem proving to verify control system designs as well as novel energy modeling and static resource analysis techniques to predict energy consumption of software. In 2007, she was awarded an “Excellence in Engineering” Prize from the Royal Academy of Engineering, U.K.
