Bio
Kenny Cheng-Hsiang Hsieh was born in Taiwan in 1963. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 1985, and the M.S. degree in electronics engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1989.
From 1989 to 1995, he designed SRAM and DRAM circuits with Winbond Corporation and Etron Corporation, Hsinchu. From 1995 to 1997, he studied at the University of California at Irvine, Irvine, CA, USA, where he researched on phase-locked loops (PLLs) and Gm-C filters. In 1997, he joined Ohm Technology Inc., Irvine, where he designed Ethernet physical (PHYs) layer. He joined the SerDes Groups of LSI Corporation, Milpitas, CA, and Xilinx Corporation, San Jose, CA, in 1999 and 2007, respectively. In 2012, he joined Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd. (TSMC), Hsinchu, where he is currently the Deputy Director and leads the Mixed-Signal Design Group. His current research interests include equalization theory in digital communication and design technology co-optimization of advanced processes.
