Kazuhiko Itaya

Kazuhiko Itaya received the B.S. degree in pure and applied sciences, the M.S. degree in coordinated sciences, from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1984 and 1986, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in engineering, also from the University of Tokyo. In 1986, he joined the Toshiba Research and Development Center, Kanagawa, Japan, where he has worked on the research and development of III-V compounds-based visible laser diodes and light-emitting devices, and he has been working on MEMS devices. He has been in an author or coauthor of more than 50 technical papers. From 1993 to 1995, he was with the University of Santa Barbara as Visiting Researcher. Dr. Itaya is a Member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics and the Japan Society for Science Policy and Research Management.
