个人简介
Juan Peris-Vicente received its Chemistry Degree from the University of Valencia in 2002, with a global qualification of 8.5/10, after the completion of an academic year (2000/2001) at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France, supported by an Erasmus fellowship. During the last year of studies, he collaborates with the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Valencia, granted by the Ministry of Education. He obtained a Master of Experimental Techniques in Chemistry (with Quality Mention granted by the Ministry of Education) in 2005 with a global qualification of 9.5/10.
During the 2002-2007 period, he carried out his Doctoral Thesis, with an FPU fellowship granted by the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Education, and directed by the Full Professors Dr. J.V. Gimeno-Adelantado (University of Valencia) and Dr. M.T. Doménech-Carbó (Polytechnical University of Valencia). The research focuses on the characterization of organic materials (proteins, drying oils, waxes, natural resins and synthetic polymers) used as varnish and agglutinants in painting artworks (from the Renaissance to modern) and wooden baroque violins. The developed analytical methods were based on advanced instrumentation, like HPLC, MS, GC, GC-MS, Py-GC/MS and FTIR. At the same time, he cooperated in other researchs about: the study of polymetallic remains from old Iberian archaeological sites by SEM/EDX, and the characterization of mineral chromite by thermogravimetry, RXD, XRF and electrochemistry. He performed two research stays in recognized international centers: the Centre de Recherche et Restauration des Musées de France (Paris, France) for 3 months in 2004 and the Doerner Institut (Munich, Germany) for 4 months in 2006. In November 2007, he received the Ph. D. with European Mention at the University of Valencia.
In 2008, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Food Technology at the University of Lleida. He worked on the analysis of micotoxins in food and blood by SPE-HPLC and ELISA.
From 2009 to 2015, he has been a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry at the University Jaume I. His research focuses on the development, optimization and validation of analytical procedures based on micellar liquid chromatography in three main topics: food safety (analysis of toxics, additives, natural products, drugs and decay markers in food), clinical analysis (detection of drugs and toxics in physiological fluids and tissues) and environmental safety (analysis of toxics and pesticides in environmental water). Experimental designs were used and the procedures were applied to incurred samples and stability studies. We study the theoretical basis of retention He has also participated in didactical tasks, by teaching Chemistry subjects at Grade and Master, as well as the tutorization of Degrees, and pre- and postdoctoral students.
Afterwards, he has been appointed to several positions at the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Valencia (2015-2019: Adjunct Professor; 2019 - 2022: Assistant Professor and 2022 to date: Associate Professor) where he has been teaching laboratory and theory courses related to Analytical Chemistry in several Degrees and Master's Degree. Additionnally he went on the same research topic as previously indicated.
