Francisco-Javier Gimeno-Blanes received the undergraduate and master’s degrees in telecommunications engineering from Universidad Politècnica de Valencia, Valencia, Spain, in 1995, the Diploma degree in advanced studies in taxes and business administration and the Ph.D. degree in communications technologies from the Universidad Miguel Hernandez of Elche, Elche, Spain, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. He is currently a Professor with Miguel Hernández University, Elche, Spain. He is also a Telecommunications Engineer. With almost 30 years of professional experience, and close to half of it in the industry, both in Spain and internationally, he held a number of management positions, in the industry, in the academia, and in the social field, with positions, such as the Strategy Planning Director, the Manager in Corporate Development, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the Vice Dean, the President of regional and local offices in the Spanish Red Cross, as well as the National Vice President. On the academic side and with close to 20 years of experience as a teacher and a researcher, his scientific production includes 50 contributions (papers/conferences), 33 research/technology transfer projects, various patents, one Know-How contract, and two university startups
