Hiroto Tanaka received the bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Tokyo, in 2003, 2005, and 2008, respectively. From 2006 to 2009, he was a JSPS Research Fellow with The University of Tokyo. From 2009 to 2011, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University. From 2011 to 2015, he was an Assistant Professor at Chiba University. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan. His research interests include fluid dynamics, biomechanics, biomimetics, and soft robotics of flying and swimming animals.
