Eva Karamitopoulou

Eva Karamitopoulou-Diamantis is a Professor of Pathology, with specilaty on Pancreatic Pathology at the University of Bern, Switzerland. She completed her training in Pathology at the Institute of Pathology, University of Basel. She worked as a consultant at the Universities of Basel and Bern and after a short period as assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Athens, she joined the Institute of Pathology, University of Bern in 2011 where she obtained her habilitation (PD) in 2013 and became Professor of Pathology in 2016. Since 2019 is a senior consultant at the Institute of Pathology Enge, Zurich, while keeping her teaching and research appointment at the Uiversity of Bern, Switzerland. She is an expert in pancreatobiliary, liver and gastrointestinal pathology and her scientific interest focuses on pancreatic cancer, especially on the deeper understanding of the immune contexture in the tumor microenvironment and its role on tumor progression.
