My PhD Thesis in Biology was oriented in an exhaustive palaeobotanical study of a Neogene small basin located in the Eastern Pyrenees (La Cerdanya Basin), but from the end of the last Century the Mesozoic palynology focuses my current work. As I am a biologists specialized in Botany, I has tried to apply to the Mesozoic successions the numerical and statistical analyses that palynologists are usually using in Quaternary and Cenozoic ones. However, I also makes a classical biostratigraphical work considering the presence or absence of palynological markers with restricted ranges of age (e.g. those from dinoflagellate cysts and pollen grains of ancient angiosperms) and the study of assemblages that inform about biostratigraphic temporal scales.
