The current research interests include the extraction and purification of lipids from macroalgae and structural characterization by mass spectrometry based approaches; evaluation of the biological functionality of lipids as added-value compounds from macroalgae with particular interest in therapeutic and nutraceutic features and new eco friendly methodologies in the extraction of bioactive compounds.
