Daniel A. Rodríguez-Silva

Daniel A. Rodriguez Silva obtained his Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from Univ. of Vigo in 2015. He worked as an assistant professor and researcher at University of Vigo for 5 years covering research topics on chatbots, e-learning and cloud computing applied to the health sector. In 2010 Daniel joined the Gradiant Research Centre as a senior researcher and project manager, dealing also with business development activities for Cloud Computing, including market analysis, products & services definition/development, business plan and marketing. During this stage, he contributed to several national and European successful proposals, and coordinated many R&D projects, following agile methodologies (SCRUM) with multidisciplinary teams. He worked with relevant companies and entities such as SERGAS, CHUVI, CHUS, INDRA, Telefónica, ATOS, SIVSA, EDNON or SCYTL in cloud architectures for e-health, Internet of Things, hospitality entertainment services, and security and privacy technologies applied to medical sensitive data. After taking entrepreneurship training and a couple of startups initiatives, Daniel joined the atlanTTic Research Centre (Univ. of Vigo) in 2022 to work as head of technology in CELIA project which aims at creating a spin-off related to voice assistants to take care of elderly. Throughout his more than 15 years of research experience, Daniel has directed several master thesis projects and published more than scientific 30 articles in international journals and conferences.
