Chris Vinckier

Chris Vinckier received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, in 1966 and 1969, respectively. He is currently a Full Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He teaches courses on environmental chemistry, safety in university laboratories, and in the field of mass spectrometry for elemental trace analysis. He is the Head of the Laboratory for Physical and Analytical Chemistry and his main research activities are related to the chemistry of biogenic hydrocarbons in the troposphere and the technological application of dissolved ozone as a cleaning and disinfecting agent. His research group has published about 150 publications in international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Vinckier is a member of the American Chemical Society and an Associated Member for Belgium of the National Committee of the International Geosphere and Biosphere Programme (IGBP).
