I finished my residency in transfusion medicine at the blood bank in Linz, Upper Austria. Blood is an extremly fascinating organ, but only a very small part of this field of medicine has actually something to do with real life patients. Mostly it's about the "product" blood and all the possibilities you have with the different parts of blood. It's about erythrocytes, thrombos, leukocytes, plasma, serum, stem cells... New treatments, research, some lab work as well :-).
