Alexander Jt Wood

Alex completed his medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2013, before working for two years as a junior doctor at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Albany Health Campus, both in Western Australia. Alex’s interest in medical research developed during an Honours year (supervised by Professor Jane Pillow) investigating neonatal cardio-respiratory physiology as a medical student. He joined the Critical Care Group in October 2015 after successfully attaining a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. Alex is supervised by Professors David Menon and Edwin Chilvers, assisted by Dr Andrew Conway-Morris. After completing his PhD, Alex intends to pursue training in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine.
