个人简介
David Clapham is interested in understanding ion channels and their control of cell signaling pathways, as well as the molecular structures in those pathways. Specifically, Clapham and his team are focused on the ion channels in primary cilia, how they affect signaling pathways in embryonic and mature neurons and glia, and the structures that control cilia channel gating. In addition, the team is studying two ubiquitous ion channels – TRPM7 and TRPM6 – critical to chromatin accessibility and transcription that are lethal when genetically deleted. To address these questions, the team uses electrophysiology, advanced light microscopy, mouse genetics, and structural approaches.
