Zubair Shanib Bhat

My Research interests fall in the category of antimicrobial drug resistance and identification of novel scaffolds from natural as well as chemical libraries to target drug resistant and persistent strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. At Clinical Microbiology Division, we are actively working in the identification new drugs in the area of tuberculosis and Gram negative infections. Our group has standardised various in vitro whole cell assays for the drug discovery program. Those include determination of MIC against drug resistant clinical isolates, MBC, Kill curve assay, Synergism, development of non-replicating persistent models, determination of mutation frequency, oral bioavalibility and PK/PD studies.
