John K. Ziemer

John K. Ziemer is a Senior Engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the Cognizant Engineer for the ST7 Colloid Micro-Newton Thruster. He is also the lead for the LISA Microthruster Technology Development activity and has helped develop and test many micropropulsion systems including colloid thrusters, field emission electric propulsion (FEEP) thrusters, pulsed plasma thrusters (PPTs), magnetoplasmadynamic (MPD) thrusters, vacuum arc thrusters (VATs), and Laser Ablation Thrusters (LATs). He has worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in the Electric Propulsion Group for over 9 years. John received a BSAE from the University of Michigan, and an MA and PhD in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University.
