Zerihun Girma Gudata

Zerihun is a sociologist, researcher, data analyst and quality expert with a demonstrated history of working experience at the NGO research projects, universities, and consultancy levels. He is an expert in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including surveys, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, interview schedules, and any related activities. He also has experience in monitoring and evaluation, formative research, and community engagement. Zerihun also has very good skills in NVivo data analysis software, STATA, ArcMap, and SPSS. Currently, he is working as a research coordinator for the Policy Study Institute and the SCOPE project and has led multiple research projects and publications. He has also collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop and implement performance measurement frameworks and provided technical assistance to program staff to help them collect and use data effectively. These include working with government officials, policymakers, and international teams to assess and identify health priorities. His previous work as HDSS research coordinator included leading all activities related to data collection, storage, and M&E of all activities in the project. One of his main duties includes planning data collection, providing training, developing tools and protocols, and following the implementation through M&E. He has closely worked with international collaborators, parents, community leaders, and community-based organizations for the success of the project. He has researched issues related to culture, health, ethnic interaction, economic wellbeing, and history. He has published six papers as a lead author in academic peer-reviewed journals so far and participated as a co-author in five other papers. He has participated in and presented his studies at two international and various national conferences. He used both qualitative and quantitative approaches in his studies.
