Career Trajectory
Bio
I received the B.S and M.S. both in computational mathematics from Dalian University of Technology, Liaoniang, China, in 2002 and Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 2005, respectively. I received the Ph. D. in computational and applied mathematics from Rice University, TX, USA, in 2009. From 2009 to 2012, I had been a postdoctoral research associate in Cornell University, NY, USA. Since 2012, I have been an Associate Professor of School of Mathematical Sciences of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. I am a research associate of Center for Applied Mathematics of Cornell U since Dec. 2014.
I have been working on sparse representation and optimization for image processing and brain image (signal) analysis, machine learning and deep learning. Notice that we not only working on high dimensional linear regression models, but also relatively high dimensional nonlinear and non-convex complicated prediction models, which are often the cruel reality. The shallow, medium and deep neural networks could be utilized depending on different circumstances.
