PhD in biochemistry - Texas A&M University, College Station, USA Associate Professor - Nazarbayev University, Astana, Kazakhstan Corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan In 1991 graduated from Moscow State University, Department of Biology, majoring in molecular biology. In 2000 obtained PhD degree in biochemistry from Texas A&M University, College Station, USA, where have worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow until 2001. In 2001-2004 worked on express diagnostics of anthrax at the Center for Diseases Control and Prevention, Fort Collins, USA. In 2004 returned to Kazakhstan and served as Deputy Director General for Science at the Center for Biological Research, Almaty till 2005. From 2005 till 2023 served as Director General at the National Center for Biotechnology, Astana. Since 2013 teaches at Nazarbayev University, currently is an Associate Professor at School of Sciences and Humanities.
