Satoshi Toyoda

Satoshi Toyoda was born in Ehime, Japan, in 1980. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in applied chemistry from The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2003, 2005, and 2007, respectively. From 2007 to 2010, he became a Research Fellow and an Assistant professor, in 2011, with The University of Tokyo, and an Assistant Professor with KEK-PF, Tsukuba, Japan, in 2012. In 2013, he became an Assistant Professor with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. Since 2019, he has been an Associate Professor with the New Industry Creation Hatchery Center (NICHe), Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, and a Project Coordinator with the Internet of Things Promotion Department, New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Kawasaki, Japan, as well. He has been studying synchrotron-radiation based spectroscopy, especially X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and its applications, and developed a method of material characterization by using data science techniques. Dr. Toyoda is a Member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science R026 Committee.
