Dr. Yaron Ilan is the Director of the Department of Medicine at Hebrew University Hadassah Medical Center. He is a graduate of the Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the Hadassah University Medical Center. His post-graduate training was acquired at the Liver Research Center of Yeshiva University’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Mount Sinai Medical Center and The Harvard Institute of Medicine of Harvard University. Between 2002 to 2009 he served as the Vice Dean of the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School. A prolific researcher, he holds over 50 patents for discoveries based on his research and has authored and co-authored more than 240 articles. Dr Ilan's main areas of research are Liver immunology; Development of immunemodulatory drugs for fatty liver disease, type 2 diabetes and inflammatory bowel disease. He is the inventor of a number of drugs and devices being developed by several pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Ilan is the founder of several start up companies and medical director and advisor for several biotech companies.
