My research focuses primarily on the rheological and mechanical description of magma and rocks, and their impact on earthquake and volcanic processes. Contributions have been made to the problems of magma evolution and transport, lava dome eruptions, explosive eruption forecasting techniques, caldera formation, volcanic earthquake dynamics, kimberlite eruptions, extraterrestrial volcanism, sintering processes, and fire hazards.
