Yalın is Associate Professor in Faculty of Sport Sciences at Inonu University (TUR). His academic background is in Recreation, Adventure, Leisure, and Tourism Studies. His research focuses on scuba divers’ experiences in adventures leisure, primarily psychological aspects of adventure participants. He has written a number of published journal articles and text book chapters on this subject. The key themes of these are: motives encouraging adventures leisure participation, experiences of adventure activities, benefits gained from participation through positive psychology, constraint negotiation, and journeys in adventure. He is also carrying out ERASMUS+ sport project at international level as coordinator and partner. Yalın is a committee member of the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation (TUSF), World Confederation of Underwater Activities (CMAS), Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), and International Life Saving Federation (ILS).
