Xuefei Gao

Xuefei Gao obtained her Ph. D. degree in Chemistry from University of Science and Technology Beijing, China in 2014 supervised by Professor Xue-Ji Zhang. Then she joined in Professor Nianqiang Nick Wu's group in West Virginia University, as a postdoctoral research fellow. During her Ph. D. period, she has studied in North Dakota State Univeristy for 2 years and Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences for 1.5 years as an exchange PhD student. She has been working on lateral flow strip biosensors for detecting heavy metal ions and nucleic acid and antibodies. Xuefei Gao also works on Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy and oil/water separation by using nanostructured materials and superoleophobici/superhydrophobic materials. She has served reviewers for some high-impact journals (e.g. Analyst). Xuefei Gao has published 10 peer-reviewed papers in major high-impact journals and delivered 4 presentations in China and American conferences. She is currently pursing the Ph.
