Professor Xiaolong Hu is a professor in the College of Precision Instrument
and Opto‐Electronic Engineering, Tianjin University (Peiyang University). He
obtained his Ph. D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering and
Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2011.
From 2011 to 2012, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan,
Ann Arbor; from 2012 to 2013, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Columbia
University in the City of New York and MIT.
His current research focuses on nanophotonic devices, in particular,
superconducting infrared single‐photon detectors and semiconductor quantum‐
light sources. His research is also relevant to flexible and stretchable opto‐
electronic systems.
