He has won 100 national outstanding doctoral thesis awards, 3 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress first prizes, 4 provincial science and technology progress second prizes, 1 provincial natural science second prize, and the Ministry of Education New Century Talents Award. The Chinese Academy of Rock Mechanics and Engineering Young Science and Technology Award, Hunan Youth Science and Technology Award, and more than 10 scientific research awards; 8 international papers won the 25Top Hottest Aritcles Award, 11 papers were selected for the ESI Highly Cited Paper Award. He has been responsible for more than 10 research projects including the National Key Basic Research Program 973 Project, the National Natural Science Foundation, the Hunan Outstanding Youth Fund, the Western Transportation Technology Project of the Ministry of Communications, and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He has long been engaged in teaching and research work in civil engineering.
