William W. Chadwick

William W. Chadwick, Jr., received the B.A. degree in geology from Colorado College, Colorado Springs, and the Ph.D. degree in geology from University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1981 and 1988, respectively. He has studied active volcanoes on land and on the seafloor, specializing in physical volcanology, volcano monitoring, and mid-ocean ridge processes. Since 1989, he has been an Assistant Professor at Oregon State University, Newport, primarily working with the NOAA Vents Program, focusing on active submarine volcanism in the NE Pacific.
