I am passionate about understanding vulnerability mechanisms that predispose youth to developing major mood disorders, with and without co-occurring substance use disorder. My earlier research emphasized the use of high-risk study designs to explore reward-related and social-cognitive factors involved in the intergenerational transmission of unipolar depression. I have since expanded this focus to explore similar processes in the context of bipolar disorder and co-occurring alcohol use disorder.
