I am most interested in how the non-specific effects of drugs of abuse - usually referred to as "stress" or the General Adaptation Response" can be tapped to develop better pharmacological, behavioral, or combined treatments for drug addictions. If we can tap into this, we could develop treatments that may be effective across drug types, even perhaps for behavioral addiction disorders. I note that if we could be successful here, this could bring new treatments to a wide number of conditions.
