Wesley Calvert

Wesley Calvert received the B.A. degree in mathematics and history from Augustana College, Rock Island, IL, in 2000 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN, in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Mathematics, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. In the past, he has served as a Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research Scholar at The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, India, and as an Assistant Professor of mathematics and statistics at Murray State University, Murray, KY. His primary research interest is in mathematical logic and its applications to algebra and theoretical computing. Dr. Calvert is a member of the Association for Symbolic Logic, the American Mathematical Society, the Mathematical Association of America, and the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Algorithms and Computation Theory. He is also active in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Education Outreach Programs.
