个人简介
Weizhuo Shi, Ph.D. Eng. – is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China, specializing in Structural Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from Iowa State University, where he made significant strides in the application of innovative materials in building and bridge structures. His research focuses on enhancing the resilience and sustainability of infrastructure in the face of extreme events. His groundbreaking work spans a variety of areas, including non-proprietary Ultra-High Performance Concrete, materials for steel corrosion, High-Performance Fiber-Reinforced Concrete, and bridge structure performance improvement methodologies. He is currently leading projects focused on developing cost-effective, high-performance building materials and pioneering techniques for bridge rehabilitation. Dr. Shi is deeply committed to mentoring future engineers and contributing to sustainable and resilient infrastructure development.
He has also attended and presented the outcome of his research in a number of conferences, where he received several awards, such as the Best Poster Award in the 2018 ACI Better Concrete Conference and the Best Oral Presentation in the 3rd Annual Graduate Students Research Conference at Iowa State University. He was also awarded the Postdoctoral Seed Grant from Iowa State University. He currently serves as a member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
